Have you seen the way I prepare my DNA vouchers?

You criticize my vouchering system by pointing out that "appendages glued to a card can only be viewed from a single perspective (i.e., only one wing surface can be examined)." If you examine the image at http://www.butterfliesofamerica.com/L/heliconius_tristero_types.htm you will see that that is not a correct characterization. Only the bases of the wings are glued to the card, and the dorsal surface of the basal region is exposed on one side and the ventral on the other, in case there are any important characters there (as there are in Heliconius). The advantage of my system over yours is that the specimen is prepared in the same way as and can be curated together with standard spread specimens in museum drawers where they can reside forever, so you don't need a parallel curatorial scheme for your vouchers or special databases to keep track of the voucher numbers.

Also, let's hope the dermestids can't eat through your laminated plastic!

Cheers,
