Congratulations for the great draft! I am currently working with mimetic interactions among several species of juvenile fishes and several species of floating plant materials (please refer to https://peerj.com/preprints/1673/ as example). Although the most fish species I have been dealing are active swimmers, they are quite dependent of the floating plant models for survival (as using their similar shape to the plant models as protection against potential predators), and for dispersal (as the ferquency of occurrence of both plant models and mimetic fish are tide-dependent, with a higher frequency of occurrence during flow and high tides -- these results have not been published yet). These fish communities usually occur in diverser aggregates of several species, belonging to even to different Families (although con-specific aggregates are rare events), composed by juvenile carnivores/predator fishes, juvenile herbivores, and so on. We could even register a single event where a mimetic juvenile did successfuly predate onto another (smaller) mimetic juvenile fish, belonging to a different species. According to your proposed model, how could I better explain such dependance of the floating plant material by the several mimetic fish species, for dispersing purposes?
