Given the difficulty in determining true increased production vs. attraction in terms of abundance on recently restored reefs, as you mention, what would you estimate to be the lag time needed to detect actual increased production (in abundance) for reefs in Louisiana? Obviously it would differ among taxa, but if you re-sampled now, 6 years post-construction, would these reefs show sufficient secondary production that you could say it wasn't just attraction from other surrounding habitats? I understand the need for control sampling sites, i.e. BACI designs, but am more interested in your anecdotal insight.
