Studying the dynamics of human gut microbiota and its influence on health. Focusing on gastrointestinal diseases such as diarrhea. Working on clinical samples. Exploring host-parasite coevolution, intra- and inter-community horizontal gene transfer, spread of pathogenicity factors such as antibiotics resistance genes. Meanwhile developing software and database to facilitate pathogen discovery. Specialized in methodology and application of metagenomics, including taxonomic profiling, de novo assembly, phylogenetic analysis, and functional analysis.
