Peter Vitruk, PhD, MInstP, CPhys, DABLS
Dr. Peter Vitruk was born and raised in Western Ukraine. He earned his PhD degree in Physics from the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute, Moscow, USSR in 1990. In the 1990s he held a Research Scientist position with The Institute for Problems in Mechanics, The Academy of Sciences, Moscow, USSR, and then a Royal Society Visiting Research Fellow position at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Since 1995 he worked as Senior Scientist with Synrad Inc. in Seattle, WA, USA, and later as Chief Scientist with Luxar/ESC/Lumenis also in Seattle. During 2000s Dr. Vitruk co-founded Luxarcare LLC, Aesculight LLC and LightScalpel LLC – laser service, technology development and manufacturing companies near Seattle – which he presently operates.
Dr. Vitruk published on electro-dynamic properties and Scaling Laws of low temperature RF plasmas in RF excited CO2 lasers and atomic Xe lasers, as well as on laser resonator and beam transmission optics. His most recent interests include the laser tissue interaction physics in soft-tissue surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Vitruk is a Member of The Institute of Physics, UK; a Diplomate of and a Director at the American Board of Laser Surgery, USA; a Founder of the American Laser Study Club.
