As researcher, develops studies in community ecology, focusing on works about entomology and animal-plant interactions. The main current researches are about the role of insect herbivory played in plant dynamics at Neotropical savannas habitats. With special interest of leaf-cutter ant, have published papers about herbivory and ecosystem effects of these ants in Brazilian Cerrado, the largest extension of savanna in neotropics. In addition, contributes with studies of fauna diversity and animal conservation.
