Our preprint 'A new paradigm for science: nurturing the ecosystem' https://t.co/kd3cASYTCT was one of the top 5 most viewed #EthicalIssues #ScienceMedicalEducation and #SciencePolicy articles in @thePeerJ in 2018! @diatomsRcool Published version here: https://t.co/X4TCCAntt9
This is really important (scientists in a position to make a difference please read!) The idea of a pipeline needs to change. Please read! Nurturing the scientific ecosystem https://t.co/sA8cro50bx via @PeerJPreprints
@seismo_steve @OpenSci_MOOC Plus it continues to sustain the illusion of a 'pipeline': and that postdocs are the only and most natural stepping-stone to a coveted permanent position. We need a whole new way of thinking about sci careers, we talk about this in our new preprint: https://t.co/2fMup1W0NQ
@openlibhums This is great. I mention these kinds of initiatives in our preprint. https://t.co/2fMup1W0NQ Is there an equivalent of @openlibhums for science?
@Orthogonal_Lab made the (#preprint) news! So to speak. Thanks to @LancasterSci and @diatomsRcool for version 2: https://t.co/05RNbYXzcC https://t.co/11zLbAOltQ
This is particularly important for independent scholars and growing community ecosystem of peer-to-peer science/scholarship. We discuss this in box 6 of our preprint :) https://t.co/2fMup1W0NQ
@trishankkarthik @orestistsinalis @primalpoly @jayvanbavel It's a good question, together with some colleagues I wrote a preprint with some thoughts about that. In brief, there's probably no one simple model, but we need to experiment with more fluid, ecological approaches than typical academic 'pipelines' allow
