Summary

I am a computational biologist with a background in biotechnology. I am interested in understanding the functional nature of macromolecules with a special focus on their evolutionary relationships and their interactions in biological systems. I commonly employ and develop different computational approaches suitable for the analysis of biological sequences and structures.

I am currently Assistant Researcher from the National Council of Science and Technology (CONICET) at the Structural Bioinformatics Group (Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, UNQ) and the Structural Bioinformatics Unit (Fundación Instituto Leloir) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am also Teaching Assistant in Bioinformatics at Department of Science and Technology, UNQ.

I obtained a PhD in Science and Technology from UNQ, Argentina in 2011 under the direction of Dr. Gustavo Parisi. My research focused on the development of an evolutionary-based method for the validation of protein tertiary structure. I worked afterwards as Postdoctoral fellow in Bioinformatics for the project PhasIbeAm (Genoma-CYTED) while I was a member of the Protein Physiology Lab at Department of Biological Chemistry, University of Buenos Aires (UBA), with Dr. Ignacio E. Sánchez. From 2012 to 2014 I was Research fellow in Bioinformatics at Centre for Biological Sciences, University of Southampton (UoS), United Kingdom, where I worked on the Integrated in silico prediction of protein-protein interaction motifs with Dr. Richard J. Edwards.
