Philippe Aigrain
Summary
Dr. Aigrain is a researcher in computer science, with particular focus on media software for text, still images, video and music. He is presently CEO of Sopinspace a company developing free software and operating Web services for on-line text annotation and other collaborative activities. He authored three books on knowledge commons and digital cultures. From 1996 to 2003, he worked for the European Commission R&D programmes where he initiated policies in support to free/open source software.
