Summary

Michael Corballis was born in New Zealand, and completed degrees in mathematics and psychology there before graduating with a PhD in psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After some years on the faculty at McGill he returned to New Zealand, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Auckland. He has published widely on aspects of cognitive neuroscience, including memory, brain asymmetry, language and evolution. His books have been translated into ten languages, and his most recent include The Recursive Mind (2011), The Wandering Mind (2014), and The Truth about Language (2017). In 2016 he was awarded The Rutherford Medal, the New Zealand’s top science award.
