Mark D. Scherz

I am a PhD Candidate at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, working at the Zoologische Staatssammlung München (Bavarian State Collection of Zoology) on the evolution and taxonomy of the herpetofauna of Madagascar. Although I am working on almost all reptile and amphibian taxa in Madagascar, my main research focus is on the Cophylinae, a Madagascar-endemic, ecologically diverse radiation of microhylid frogs, where we are using integrative taxonomy with emphasis on micro-Computed Tomography and related techniques to solve species complexes and investigate larger evolutionary questions.
