After publication of the data presented here, we have identified an N-terminally truncated CT2AXH motif that forms foci similar in size and localization to CT2AXH. Termed MEKS2AXH, this motif is 102 amino acids smaller than CT2AXH. The data is appended as Figure 8 in Supplemental Information in version 2 of the Peerj PrePrint linked to the Peerj article.
