His work focused on mammalian oocyte maturation, fertilization, earlier embryo development, as well was mechanism of animal cloning and model animal transgenic research. The field includes signal transduction during oocyte meiotic maturation, hormone regulated oocyte maturation, spindle dynamics during oocyte maturation, spindle checkpoint regulated chromosome separation, ooplasm regulated paternal genome reprogramming and autocrine/ paracrine regulated embryo development.
