Jidon Janaun
Summary
Dr. Jidon joined UMS as a lecturer in November 2002. He obtained his PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2012. During his career with UMS, Dr. Jidon has conducted many research projects funded by government, private companies, and international bodies with a value of over RM3 millions. These immense works have generated several IPs, to which two products namely LAMB Dryer and UMS Eco-Solar Dryer have been commercialized. Two new products are going to be commercialized at the end of this year. Dr. Jidon is currently providing technical expertise for the company to establish a commercial factory to mass produce LAMB dryer. Dr. Jidon has won many research competition awards locally and internationally, most of the awards are Gold Medal. To date, Dr. Jidon has graduated 7 Master students, and is currently supervising 3 PhD and 6 Master students. Dr. Jidon also has published over 30 high impact journals and over 50 refereed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters, with a total citation of over 700. Besides active in research Dr. Jidon was also involved in managerial duties such as coordinator for Bachelor and Diploma of Oil and Gas Engineering and a Business Development Manager for Faculty of Engineering. He is particularly instrumental in the Timor-Leste student programmes in UMS. Apart of academic world, Dr. Jidon loves photography and travelling, and making new friends.
