Western University is committed to the principles of open access publishing and fully supports open access initiatives such as PeerJ. Western is taking part in PeerJ’s Three-Year Membership Program. Thanks to this partnership, authors affiliated with Western are eligible for a free three-year membership with PeerJ, which means that there will be no out-of-pocket fees for ISU authors to publish in any of PeerJ’s seven journals.

At any time during the membership period, authors may publish up to three articles with PeerJ. For example, they may publish three articles in the first year of their membership or two articles their first year and one in their third.

When your article has been accepted for publication, Western-affiliated authors should return to this page to submit a claim for a Three Year Membership. Your claim will be reviewed by staff at Western Libraries.

If you have any questions, please email wloawg@uwo.ca. To review Western Libraries' statement on open access, please visit: https://www.lib.uwo.ca/scholarship/index.html.

All co-authors on a paper must have a valid PeerJ Membership to publish.

Western University affiliated authors can submit a request to the fund manager to purchase a three-year membership for any co-authors from lower income countries. Please include a note on your funding request or contact the fund manager to discuss your options.
