Maximum plan funds can be applied to:
3-year term

UC Berkeley has a strong interest in exploring and supporting a variety of open access projects. The UCB Library believes that open access publishing moves science forward and increases impact.

UC Berkeley is taking part in a pilot of 3 Year PeerJ Memberships. UC Berkeley will fund a 3 Year Membership in its entirety, which means that there will be no out-of-pocket fees for you to publish in PeerJ journals. During the 3 Year Membership, you can publish 3 articles with PeerJ. The only requirement is that all co-authors on a paper have a valid PeerJ membership.

We recommend that you check that you are eligible for a Membership by contacting the Office of Scholarly Communication Services at schol-comm@berkeley.edu for more details.

When an article is accepted, each author must return to this page to submit your claim. Our system will recognize your institutional email address on your profile and automatically process payment via the fund. If you encounter issues with this process, please let the PeerJ team know that you have approval from your institution to have your article covered under an institutional membership, and we will follow up with your institutional fund manager directly.

We trust this membership will encourage Berkeley authors to make their scholarship open and accessible. If you have questions regarding our support of PeerJ, or other open access initiatives supported by the Berkeley Libraries, please contact the Office of Scholarly Communication Services at schol-comm@berkeley.edu.

All authors of an accepted article must have a paid membership.
