I am a Clinician Scientist Fellow and a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge. My clinical expertise is in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, and I practise as an Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. I have extensive clinical research experience HIV, TB, viral hepatitis and S. aureus infections in the UK and in south-east Asia. My current research focuses on translating microbial genomics from a research tool into clinical practice. I have published over 80 scientific papers and three books, and am interested in medical education and public engagement.
