I study the biomechanics of posture and locomotion in animals. My undergraduate, veterinary and PhD degrees are all from Cornell, where I trained with John E.A. Bertram in animal locomotion biomechanics. I teach professional training courses in posture for veterinarians, and teach programs on research and careers in biology at Cornell Summer College. I have a part time clinical practice limited to integrative veterinary medicine in Ithaca, NY. My private research group is called Maximum Horsepower Research, and we study postural integration and how living with humans affects the energetic, mechanical, emotional, neurologic and musculoskeletal function of domestic animals, like horses and dogs.
