Cássio van den Berg is a researcher in plant science in Northeastern Brazil, Bahia State. He works with the interface of plant taxonomy and systematics with plant molecular phylogenetics, phylogeography, population genetics, and morphometrics. He currently is head of the Plant Molecular Systematics Laboratory at the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana.
