Celebrating International Open Access Week 2022 with #OAadvocates
To celebrate International Open Access Week 2022, we asked why you choose, and advocate for, Open Access. PeerJ has been publishing and advocating for Open Access for over a decade, as we believe access to knowledge is key to solving the greatest challenges the world faces.
To jointly celebrate our 10th birthday and International Open Access Week, we drew five winners from the people who tweeted why they’re an Open Access advocate. They receive a 100% APC waiver. The winners were:
Alex Gener (@Cas9Bandit)
I’m an Open Access Advocate because the global communities affected by the pathogens I study can’t wait
Mario Dalmaso (@mariodalmaso)
I’m an Open Access Advocate because knowledge is freedom
Edson Silva (@ssilva_edson):
I’m an Open Access Advocate because #OA allow replications and validations of our data, increase international collaboration and become the peer review process clearer and fair
Lucas de Liz Alves (@lucasdelizalves):
I’m an Open Access Advocate because #OA can make a fairer world in science
Leo Peyré-Tartaruga (@leotartaruga):
I’m an Open Access Advocate because the #OA model reduces inequalities in knowledge production and access, thus, fights for a fairer world
Congratulations to the winners – we’re getting in touch to let you know how to claim your prize.
