How to submit to PeerJ directly from bioRxiv

In 2018 we were thrilled to announce researchers were able to directly submit their manuscripts to PeerJ – the journal of Life & Environmental Sciences – for peer review from the popular preprint server bioRxiv. This integration has sped up the submission process for authors, and facilitates the rapid communication of scientific results.

In the past 12 months we have received around 50 subscriptions directly from bioRxiv.  At PeerJ we support and encourage our authors to share preprint versions of their manuscripts before undertaking peer review and BioRxiv hosts a substantial body of preprints for the biology community.

Submitting directly from bioRxiv can save authors time by transmitting their manuscript files and metadata directly. Once you’ve submitted your preprint, you simply need to click on the ‘Submit to a journal’ link and select PeerJ from the list:

By uploading preprints, authors establish precedent; they can solicit feedback, and they can work on revisions of their manuscript. We want to make it as easy as possible for authors to receive quality peer review and this direct submission process is designed to make this process as seamless as possible.
