Paula Viana

Summary

Paula Viana, is a Coordinator Professor at the Polytechnic of Porto and a researcher at INESC TEC, where she coordinates the Multimedia Communications Technology area. She received her PhD degree from University of Porto in 2008. She has over 30 years of experience in the area of multimedia content analysis and management, computer vision and multimedia metadata. She has been acting as PI in several research projects, leading research teams and supervising students. She is an expert for the evaluation of research projects both at the European Commission as well as for national agencies.

Prof. Paula Viana main research interests are related to networked audiovisual systems, visual analytics, computer vision, machine learning and content management.
