Dr. P. Viswanathan is a Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, India. He received his Doctorate of Engineering from the School of Computer Science Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, India, on 2014. He received a Master of Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India, in 2006 and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India, in 2002. He received Diploma in computer technology from Sreenivasa Polytechnic, State Board of Technical Education, India, in 1998. His current research interests include digital image processing, Machine learning, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and computer graphics in shape analysis, description, and segmentation. He was a senior member of IEEE and ACM and the recipient of several academic and research awards best poster award from the Indian science congress on the year 2007 and VIT Most Active Researcher Award from the year 2010-2022.
