Dr. Janet has served NIT, Trichy as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications.
She started her research in Information Retrieval with a first class in Master of Philosophy in Computer Science from Alagappa University, Karaikudi. and a Ph. D. degree in 2012 by the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.
Dr. Janet has set up the first of its kind Information Processing and Security Laboratory at NITT, with Industry involvement. She has drafted the curriculum for Information Security with industry and Research Institute contributions, providing novel hands-on training to students.
She has published research papers in International Journals and Conferences of repute in Information retrieval and security. She has been a professional facilitator of students. Her teaching experience includes experiments on activity based learning, Learner centric teaching and flipped classroom approaches.
She is a champion of open source technology and serves as a faculty advisory of a group of Open Source Open Community students in NITT.
She has visited Malaysia to present one of her research papers in a conference. She is also a reviewer for many International Conferences. She is presently the Life member of Computer Society of India, International Association of Engineers, ISTE, ISC and International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology. She is also an active member of IEEE and ACM.
