Summary
I am a Herpetologist working in southern Bahia, Brazil, mostly on amphibian ecology, ecophysiology, biogeography, conservation and ecotoxicology. But sometimes I also feel in the mood to do some work on snakes, lizards and turtles. I studied Biology and made my PhD at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany) and since 2008 I am a full Professor for Vertebrate Zoology at Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (Brazil), currently spending a sabbatical year at the Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig in Bonn Germany, with a grant provided by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. My research group currently is formed mainly by Brazilian students, but I also supervise students from Peru, Venezuela, Germany and former students include researcher from Hungary, Spain, USA, Argentina and Panama.
