Summary

I am an ornithologist, biogeographer, and tropical ecologist with a research focus on Neotropical birds (esp. Trochilids). My recent research interests are in the field of applied sciences related to rapid biodiversity assessment studies, e.g., automated acoustic monitoring. At present, I am engaged in a long-term study on automated acoustic species detection in the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil (www.cobra.ic.ufmt.br).
