Summary

Juan Francisco Contreras Cordero is Professor of Virology at the Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon. Received his Bachelor´s Degree in Chemical Bacteriology and Parasitology in 1984, Master of Science in Immunobiology in 1995 and Doctor of Science in Microbiology in 2003. His work focused on the molecular epidemiology of viruses such as rotavirus, astrovirus, norovirus, West Nile virus and influenza virus, as well as antigenic characteristics of viral proteins. Currently member of the American Society for Microbiology and founder member of the Mexican Virology Network and Mexican Society of Virology.
