Summary

Since 1983 I focused on structural and functional studies of proteins from scorpion poisons using NMR and mass spectroscopy. Beside this, now I study physiological properties of polypeptides and proteins isolated from scorpion, snake and bee venom. From scorpion venom we isolated a number toxins acting with potassium channels, toxins having analgesic activity and the anticoagulant substances. From snake venom we isolated polypeptide ligand of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, a number toxins having anticoagulant properties, and compound acting on human cancer cell.
