He focuses on paleontology and museology. He has carried out and presided over more than 20 research programs including one National 863 Program; published over 30 papers, including eight in Nature and Science magazines (for three such papers as the First Author); obtained three patents for inventions; and designed or curated over 120 exhibitions of different varieties. He was awarded the title National Excellent Scientist and received the honor of State Council Expert for Special Allowance.
