PhD, Researcher and Director of Beijing Museum of Natural History, Director of Natural History Museum Committee, Standing Member of the Board of the Chinese Museums Association, Member of Paleontological Experts Committee of China, Deputy Director of the Science Communication Committee of the Paleontological Society of China, Deputy Director of the Ecological Committee of the China Science Writers Association and Chief Editor of China Nature magazine. He focuses on paleontology and museology. He has carried out and presided over more than 20 research programs including one National 863 Program; published over 30 papers, including eight in Nature and Science magazines (for three such papers as the First Author); obtained three patents for inventions; and designed or curated over 120 exhibitions of different varieties. He was awarded the title National Excellent Scientist and received the honor of State Council Expert for Special Allowance.
