Summary

I am an applied ecologist interested in understanding how plant, insect and soil communities interact with one another and their environment to drive ecosystem responses to disturbance. I am currently leading a project assessing the success of restoration following energy development in rangeland landscapes, focusing on recovery rates for plant and animal communities and their associated functioning. Our goal is to better understand reclamation processes in order to improve restoration successes and the productivity of rangeland ecosystems. My research interests also include weed/invasion ecology, global change (especially drought), statistical approaches to understanding population and community change, and ecosystem function.
