@BrianMteleSUR As best I can tell its scientific name is Mico Munduruku, the Munduruku being a reference to the tribe on whose land the scientists documented it. I'd say it's a safe bet the Munduruku people had "discovered" this monkey long ago

The Munduruku marmoset (https://t.co/x3lPbznqHf) was recently discovered in a small area in the Amazonian arc of deforestation, Brazil. It is therefore little known but already Vulnerable to extinction according to @IUCNRedList (https://t.co/iHWJGjkljR).

This region is one of the main fronts of forest destruction. Plus, 4 hydroelectric plants are in the process of implementation, and will directly impact the habitat of this sp. There already are concerns about its survival
