Summary

Graduated from Kazan State University (Kazan, Russia) in 1980, received PhD degree in Zoology from the Institute of Ecology and Evolution (Moscow, Russia) in 1990 and D. Sc. in Oceanology from the Institute of Oceanology (Sopot, Poland) in 2006. Worked in Klaipeda Hydrometeorological Observatory (1980-1992), Klaipeda University, Lithuania (1992-till present), a research company UniResearch affiliated to Bergen University, Norway (2008-2009). Research fields: benthic ecology, aquatic invasion biology, marine environmental impact assessment. Experience of work in research cruises at high seas (nearly four years). Conducted SCUBA diving and underwater video research expeditions in the Baltic Sea, White Sea, Black Sea, Adriatic Sea and Arctic (Spitsbergen). The founder of the doctorate school in Marine Ecology and Environmental Sciences at Klaipeda University, teach several courses, including Hydrobiology, Aquatic Invasion Biology and Ecology of Marine Landscapes and Habitats.
