Dr. Caroline Staub is a physical geographer specializing in climate science and climate science applications in natural resources management and agriculture. She received a B.S. (Hons) in Environmental Biology from Curtin University (Australia) followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Florida (USA). Dr. Staub currently serves as a faculty member in the International Agricultural Programs, the global branch of the University of Florida’s Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences. Her research focuses on the space-time dynamics of rainfall and the development of context-appropriate decision tools for climate risk management in agriculture, both in the Southeast United States and the Caribbean.

Researcher and technical coordinator on $13.7M USAID-funded project (2016-2020), supporting agricultural research and capacity for research in Haiti. • Conduct applied and collaborative research and extension focusing on how to integrate weather and climate information into farming practices in Haiti. • Ensure that the grant portfolio is managed to high standard and in compliance with donor agreements by providing strategic leadership and support (both technical and administrative) to research faculty from soil science, plant pathology, electrical engineering, agricultural engineering and the social sciences. • Relate project outcomes and outputs to USAID through the compilation of monthly reports. I am based at the University of Florida in Gainesville and travel to Haiti regularly.
