obtained Ph.D. in Genetics from the Biology Department at Middle East Technical University (METU) (1988). worked at METU as a faculty member with teaching and research activities until retired at 2013. Continue research with honey bees genetics and behavior at the common bee garden where five Apis mellifera subspecies of Turkey are kept under the same environmental conditions.
