Food Science and Environmental Health
I provide academic leadership and management in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health. I lead a multidisciplinary team of 35 academics and 75 researchers, providing education to more than 800 students across the disciplines of Food Science and Technology, Pharmaceutical Healthcare and Environmental Health Sciences. The goal of the Curtin Laboratory is to develop, understand and refine the use of technological solutions for the treatment of brain cancer. Our research involves preclinical pharmacological assessment of non-thermal atmospheric plasma, nanotechnology and other novel technologies. We combine these interventions with molecular approaches to augment the mode of cytotoxicity.

Gene Therapeutics Research Institute
I was a lead postdoctoral researcher at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in a research programme that developed a novel immunotherapy for the treatment of brain cancer. This gene therapy is undergoing Phase I clinical trials at present. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01811992
