Summary

As part of the Coral Reef Ecology Lab at the Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology since 1992, I have worked on a wide range of ecological projects that have focused on global and local impacts to coral reefs including ridge to reef connections and indicators of decline in coral reefs. I also conduct research on climate change focusing on the effects of ocean acidification. In 1999, I co-founded and currently maintain the ongoing Coral Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program. I am currently the Principal Investigator of the Coral Reef Ecology Lab. My team and I conduct manipulative experiments, field experiments and surveys, and work with community groups and managers to develop sound management strategies for coral reef conservation.
