Summary
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology PhD.
I'm currently Associate Professor of Medicine and Senior research in new therapies laboratory at Fundacion Jimenez Díaz University Hospital (Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain). I’ve more than 15 years of experience both in research. Our team has been world pioneer in the use of adult mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue (ASC) in human cell therapy. From 2002, we led a clinical trial process about the use of ASC for the treatment of Crohn´s disease including Phase III clinical trials. As relevant events can be noted as follow: five international patents in the field of Regenerative Medicine, two cells medicines developed and Two companies created based to this scientific activity. My principal expertise is the generation of experimental models that mimic various diseases (Crohn's disease, aortic aneurysm, tracheal lesions , ... ) and treat with mesenchymal stem cells. Other research line of our group is the ability of Circulating Nucleic Acids in Plasma/Serum (CNAPS) to transform cells.
