Summary

I am a Portuguese biologist, having started my academic training in the University of Lisboa, not so far from my home town of Caldas da Rainha. Later I went to The Netherlands where I finished my PhD at the University of Groningen in 2010. >For the last 15 years I have worked in ecology, mainly focusing on ornithology, foraging ecology, migration and conservation. Most of my work has been on shorebirds, but in a variety of habitats including coastal wetlands in both Southern Europe and West Africa and in agricultural meadows in Northern Europe. For a short period I was always part of a EU funded Life+ project aiming to preserve and improve habitat quality for black vulture and Iberian lynx i SE Portugal.
