Foo Nian Wong earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical science in 2012 from the University of Malaya. In the summer of 2012, he obtained a research internship opportunity under the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) International Internship Program in Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, and studied the tumor suppressor gene, BTG3. After the internship, he entered the PhD program in University of Malaya, under the Department of Biomedical Science where he studied the molecular pathology of chronic kidney disease.
