Bozena Kostek
Summary
Prof. BOŻENA KOSTEK holds professorship at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, Gdansk University of Technology (GUT), Poland. Prof. Kostek is a corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society.
B. Kostek received her M.Sc. degree in Sound Engineering from GUT (1983). Following this, she received M.Sc. (1986) from GUT (Institute of Management and Organization). Then, she received DEA d’Acoustique from the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France (1988). In 1992, she received her Ph.D. degree with honors from GUT. In 2000 she supported her D.Sc. degree in informatics at the Institute of Research Systems of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. In 2005 she was granted the title of professor from the President of Poland.
She is the recipient of many prestigious awards for research, including: 1st prizes of the Prime Minister of Poland. Her research activities are interdisciplinary, however the main research interests focus on audio signal analyzing and processing, speech and music recognition, music information retrieval, Quality-of-Experience, human-computer-interaction (HCI) multimedia, as well as applications of computational intelligence to the mentioned domains.
Prof. Kostek has published and presented more than 500 scientific papers in journals, chapters in books and at conferences, she also received several patents.
