Graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1981). Master and PhD in Tropical Medicine at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1990 and 2001, respectively). Currently he is associated professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil) and Manager of Education and Research of the University Hospital Júlio Müller (UFMT) . Member of the Advisory Committee to the National Malaria Control Program of the SVS/ Ministry of Health since 2000. Participates as an ad hoc reviewer of scientific papers of the following journals : Plos One (Internacional), Epidemiologia e Serviços de Saúde, Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical, Revista de Saúde Pública, Revista Brasileira de Epidemiologia, Brasília Médica, Acta Amazônica e Revista Panamazônica de Saúde, Malaria Journal e Revista de Patologia Tropica. Has expertise in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Family Medicine and Medical Education. His field of practice focuses on epidemiology and control of infectious and parasitic diseases and healthcare Infectious and Parasitic Diseases .
