"Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi (TUIASI) is a prestigious Romanian university, classified as a university for advanced research and education, is also a relevant component of the research and development system of national interest. The activity in the area of scientific research, innovation and technology transfer in multi- and transdisciplinary fields in the last five years is materialized in the ongoing over 700 research contracts won as coordinator, by national competitions, over 300 contracts as partner, while over 60 grants were won by international competitions. Also over 250 research contracts were accomplished for industry. All these research tasks were materialized also by the publication of more than 2600 papers in ISI indexed/ranked journals, and registration of 30 patents with OSIM. Dissemination of research results, facilitating the exchange of scientific information with other research groups abroad is done by the means of Environmental Engineering and Management Journal, an ISI ranked journal, which is edited under the aegis of TUIASI and the Bulletin of the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi, publication with 10 specialized sections, of which six sections are included in the category B+. The University provides administrative support, human resources, research infrastructure, the informational basis of University’s Library, consulting and monitoring needed to adequately develop and implement all scientific research projects.
