Summary

Jun Sun, a professor and dean at the College of Marine Science and Technology of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), was selected as a Chang Jiang Scholars Professor on Marine Biology by the China Ministry of Education in 2014. He is a core member of the UNESCO/IOC TrendsPO Working Group, and also a member of the SOLAS and SEBER International Program in China, a director of the Marine Special Committee of the China Water Resources Strategic Research Society, and vice-director of the Marine Scientific Investigation Committee and Chinese Benthos Committee. He is an Associate-Chief-Editor or editorial board member of more than 10 oceanographic journals, such as AOS, JSR and FMS. His research focuses on biological oceanography and Marine environmental biology. He has been the leading PI of more than 20 state-level projects, such as 863, 973 projects, State Key R&D program and National Natural Science Foundation. He has published over 440 papers in academic journals, and has been selected as an Elsevier high-cited scholar.
