Summary

As an ecologist with a keen interest in biodiversity, my research focuses on species distribution over both space and time. To understand how species respond to climate change, I combine species distributional, morphological, physiological, ecological and phylogenetic data. In recent years, I have focused on studying the role of species’ physiology in determining their distribution and predicting their responses to future climate change. I have also been studying warming related community turnover in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. By identifying the drivers of this turnover at local and global scales in both blue and green realms, I envision to enhance our understanding of community responses to changing climatic conditions and estimate the vulnerability of these ecosystems.
