Summary

I’m a biologist by the Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas at Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango. I studied my Master of Science degree in the Facultad of Ciencias Forestales at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. I studied my Ph.D. degree in Instituto de Ecología, A.C. (INECOL, A.C.) at the Department of Multitrophic Interactions. Currently, I have a postdoctoral position in the Facultad of Ciencias Forestales at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

My research experience includes plant-animal interactions, botanical surveys, reproductive phenology, pollination, herbivory and ecological interactions networks.

I´m interested to know in how these ecological interactions shape the ecosystems. In addition, I´m interested in how the interactions species contributes to maintains the entire communities in nature.

Work details

Postdoctoral position

Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
October 2017 - August 2019
Facultad de Ciencias Forestales
I am currently studying how plant-plant interactions promote or inhibit the germination, growth of survival of interacting plant species.

Bachelor's degree in biology

Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango
August 2003 - October 2009
Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas
My bachelor thesis consisted in describing the floral visitors of an endangered cactus in Chihuahuan Desert and was related to microclimatic variables.

Master of Science in Forestry

Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
August 2009 - August 2011
Facultad de Ciencias Forestales
I completed my Master's degree studies in Facultad de Ciencias Forestales studying the reproductive phenology (flowers and fruits) and floral visitors on a population of Cordia boissieri in the Tamaulipan thornscrub.

PhD Student

Instituto de Ecología, A. C.
September 2012 - August 2016
Red de Interacciones Multitróficas
My doctoral thesis consisted in describing the reproductive phenology of plants and was related to environmental variables. In addition, I described the plant-pollinator interactions at a network level. All data were recorded in six types of vegetation in a highly seasonal coastal ecosystem.
