Summary

I am a professor of Pediatric Nursing at the University of Hiroshima, Japan. I received my Ph.D. from Osaka University in 2003, and have taught nursing of the children receiving living-related liver transplantation at Kyoto University. After my nineteen-year career as the teacher/researcher of pediatric nursing, I accepted a tenure position as a professor of Pediatric Nursing at the University of Hiroshima. In addition to teaching, I am a councilor of the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, Japan Academy of Nursing Education, and the Japanese Society of Child Health. I collaborated on a manuscript with my friend and colleague, Dr. Kazuo Hayakawa, entitled How to Progress with Nursing Study and How to Write Manuscripts. I am currently researching pediatric emergency medical care services. Also, I am concerned with nursing of children with cancer and their families, and pediatric pain-related stress management.
