Summary

Paul Székely is an Associate Professor at Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, Ecuador. He completed his Ph.D. in biology in 2010 at Babeş-Bolyai University, Romania, working mainly on the ecology of the European spadefoot toads (Pelobates fuscus and P. syriacus). His main research interests are the systematics, biogeography, evolutionary ecology, behaviour, and conservation of amphibians. Additionally, he has a broad expertise in protected areas management, having worked in and coordinated several conservation projects. Since 2014, he is working in Southern Ecuador.
