Summary

Studied Marine Biology at Liverpool in early 1980s, spent a year with John S Ryland at Swansea University before moving to RSA in order to complete a PhD at UCT. Joined UWC in 1995 after spending six years with the plankton team at the then Sea Fisheries Research Institute in Cape Town. Have worked on, and supervised students working on, a wide range of marine animals occupying a wide variety of different environments, using a variety of different tools. Whilst primarily a marine ecologist I have a passion for organismal diversity and am fascinated by gelatinous zooplankton.
