Dr. Tadesse Woldemariam Gole is Executive Director of the Environment and Coffee Forest Forum (ECFF). He has studied forestry (BSc & MSc) and Ecology and Natural Resources Management (Ph.D.); has over 25 years experience as a researcher, researcher manager, educator and practitioner; highly experienced expert in natural resources management, forestry, biodiversity conservation, REDD+, environmental finance, coffee, and climate changes issues in Ethiopia; has published over 60 articles and book chapters; has co-authored books and technical reports, including the Coffee Atlas of Ethiopia, and Coffee Farming and Climate Change in Ethiopia. He led establishment of three UNESCO biosphere reserves in forests with wild Arabica coffee populations, and has led a number of research and development projects in the context sustainable forest management; biodiversity conservation and forest products supply chain; contributed to development of many national and sub-national forestry and climate adaptation and mitigation projects and programs

Environment and Coffee Forest Forum (ECFF) is a non-profit civil society organization, first licensed and registered in 2005 and re-registered in 2009 and 2019 in accordance the relevant laws (Registration Number 0378). The vision of ECFF is a healthy and prosperous society that values, conserves and sustainably uses nature. Our mission is to reverse degradation of natural environment, and support societies and government to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving biodiversity, promoting sustainable and equitable use of renewable natural resources. ECFF primarily focus on developing strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of the coffee genetic resources, forest ecosystems and the environment in order to improve the livelihoods of local communities.
