Mei-Chuan Ko

Professor in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, USA. My research interests involve behavioral neuropharmacology of pain and addiction, including 1) biological basis and pharmacotherapy for drug abuse and dependence and 2) neuropharmacological basis of therapeutics of analgesics and antipruritics.

B Duncan X Lascelles

After graduating from the veterinary program at the University of Bristol, U.K., with honors, Dr. Lascelles completed a PhD in aspects of pre-emptive/perioperative analgesia at the University of Bristol. After an internship there, he completed his surgical residency at the University of Cambridge, U.K. and then a Fellowship in Oncological Surgery at Colorado State University. He is currently Professor in Small Animal Surgery and Pain Management at North Carolina State University.

Ashham Mansur

Ashham Mansur is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology. He is a Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist and has received his training at the University Medical Center Goettingen, Germany. His research focuses on sepsis and sepsis-related organ failure. He is also working with internationally recognized experts on integrative projects in order to facilitate precision medicine approaches in treatment of critically ill patients.

Gavin B Stewart

Gavin is interested in applied research synthesis (combining scientific information to inform policy). Primary interests are meta-analysis and Bayesian belief networks. He has a deep mislike of P values much preferring effect sizes and confidence intervals, or better still probabilities of direct relevance to decision-making. Gavin's work on meta-analysis spans applied agriculture, food, rural development, ecology and medicine reflecting a belief in generic methods for Evidence Based X (EBX).

I am an elected member of the Society for Research Synthesis Methods and associate editor of its journal, Research Synthesis Methods. I am also associate editor for PeerJ and statistical editor for the Cochrane Pain and Palliative Care Group. I’m a member of the National Centre for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis Meta-analysis Working Group and co-author of the Handbook of Meta-analysis in ecology and evolution. I am also co-chair and editor of a new Campbell Collaboration Food Security group.
